Phoneix Lamps Ltd

Phoneix Lamps Ltd is based in New Delhi, over at Flat No 28 in the Type IV quarters of Laxmibai Nagar. Working out of a flat gives the business a very different feel than an industrial warehouse. Since we are in a government housing area, the surroundings are quite orderly with lots of trees and paved walkways. We deal with lamps and lighting, so you can imagine there are always different types of bulbs and fixtures sitting around the rooms. It is a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, especially when a new shipment comes in and we have to find space for all the boxes. We don't have a formal showroom, so if people come by, they are basically walking into our workspace. The light in the flat is actually quite good during the day, which helps when we are looking at small parts. We have a small kitchen where we make tea several times a day to keep us going. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is a nice change from the usual Delhi chaos. We have a few desks pushed against the walls and a lot of shelving to keep things organized. It’s a small, family-style operation where everyone chips in with whatever needs doing, whether it’s answering the phone or packing up a lamp for delivery. We aren't a big corporate entity; we are just a few people working out of a flat in Laxmibai Nagar.
