About Parkash Candle Works – Agriculture & Farming in New Delhi
We’ve been at C-151 for a long time now. It’s a busy spot, especially when the holidays get close and everyone wants candles for their homes. Making candles isn't as simple as it looks, you know. There is a lot of pouring and waiting for things to set just right. My dad started this and we just kept going. The floor is usually a bit sticky with wax, no matter how much we sweep. We don't have a big fancy office or anything. It’s just the workshop where we get the work done. Some days it’s quiet, just the sound of the machines and us packing boxes. People from around the neighborhood know where to find us. We make all sorts of sizes, some for temples and some for birthday parties. It gets really hot in the summer with the vats going, but we’re used to it by now. We just focus on getting the orders out on time so nobody is left in the dark. It’s a honest living. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we are just hands-on with the materials. If you walk by C- 151, you’ll probably smell the scent of unscented wax or maybe some jasmine if we’re running a special batch that day. It’s just what we do every day. We also have to keep an eye on the wicks to make sure they're centered, otherwise, the candle burns all lopsided and nobody likes that.
