Orient Lites

Orient Lites is located in the Sanchi Building at Nehru Place. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the office people and shoppers. We are at G-5/77. It’s not the biggest shop, but we’ve managed to fit a lot of lighting stuff in there. We have lamps and all sorts of bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to walk, but we know where everything is. Nehru Place is always loud, so we’ve gotten used to the noise outside. We started here because it’s a central spot. People come in looking for something specific for their house or office, and we try to find it in the back. Often, the boxes are stacked up to the roof. It’s a bit of a maze. My brother and I run the place mostly. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Delhi. We just want to make sure people get the light they need without too much trouble. We don't have a website that’s very good, we just prefer talking to people face to face. It’s more personal that way. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the building and we have to wait around, but that’s just part of being in an old building like Sanchi. We enjoy the chaos of Nehru Place. It keeps things interesting every day we open up the shop.
