Northern Impex Shippers' Association

Our office is tucked away on the second floor of PhD House, right there in the Siri Institutional Area. Being on August Kranti Marg means it is always busy outside. You can hear the cars and the general hum of the city even when the windows are shut tight. Northern Impex Shippers' Association is basically just a group of us trying to keep track of everything moving through the shipping lanes. It is a lot of coordination and people asking questions all day long. The building itself has that older feel to it, which is fine by us. We have plenty of files and ledgers stacked up because some things are still easier to see on paper. We usually start the day early before the heat really kicks in or the traffic gets too heavy. Most of our time is spent talking to people at the docks or other offices nearby. It is not a glamorous job, but someone has to keep the logistics straight. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall or brought from home in a tiffin. We do not have a big corporate cafeteria or anything like that. We just sit around the main table and talk about what needs to be done next. It is a practical setup for the kind of work we handle. We have been in this spot for a while, so we know the routine of the building and the security guards by name. It works for us.
