Navjyoti Eye Centre

You can find us at 90 Darya Ganj. Navjyoti Eye Centre has been in this old part of the city for a long time. Darya Ganj is famous for books and history, but we are just here focusing on eyes. The building is quite old and has that specific smell of old structures. We have our clinic on the ground floor which makes it easier for people to walk in. The streets outside are incredibly narrow and always packed with carts and rickshaws. It can be a struggle just to get to the door sometimes. Inside, we have our equipment set up in different rooms. It’s not a modern glass building; it has thick walls and high ceilings. We see people from all over this side of town. Some have been coming to us for decades. We don't really do much advertising. People just know we are here. The waiting area is usually full by mid-morning. We have an old fan that wobbles a bit but it does the job. Sometimes we have to shout over the noise of the traffic outside to be heard. We take our tea breaks when there’s a gap in the appointments. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don't use many computers for the records, we still like using paper files. It’s just how we have always done it at Darya Ganj. It feels like home to us.
