Naari

Naari is our little place at 210 A in Sahapur Jat. If you’ve ever walked through the lanes here, you know it’s a bit of a maze but full of character. We started out in this small space and we’ve just stayed put. It’s where all the ideas and the actual making happens. We don’t have a massive showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just us, some tables, and the sewing machines. Sahapur Jat is a great spot for us because there are so many other creative people around. You can always hear the sounds of the neighborhood while we work. The walls are probably due for a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the fabric to worry about that. We have a few people who help with the cutting and stitching. It’s a small team, more like a family really. We drink a lot of tea and talk about what we’re making next. Sometimes we stay late when a project is nearly finished. We don't follow any corporate rules here. We just work on what we like and hope people find us in the alley. It’s a bit cramped at times, especially when new shipments of cloth arrive, but it feels like home to us. We don't need a big sign or a fancy entrance. People who know where we are just drop by.
