N Shah & Company

N Shah & Company is located in G-1/58 of the Sahyog Building over in Nehru Place. If you have ever been to Nehru Place, you know it is a maze of buildings and people selling electronics. Our office is on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to find us without having to wait for the elevators, which are usually broken anyway. The space is fairly small and packed with shelves. We have a lot of old ledgers and papers because we have been doing this for a long time and have not quite switched everything over to the computer yet. It is often a bit dark inside because the building next door blocks most of the sunlight. We keep the overhead lights on all day. There is a tea stall just outside the main entrance of Sahyog Building where we usually go for a break. The noise of the crowds outside is just part of the background now. We do not have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and you are right there in the middle of everything. I sit at the desk near the door. My chair squeaks a bit when I move, and the desk has some scratches from years of use. It is a practical spot in a very busy part of Delhi. We just focus on getting through the pile of work on our desks and making sure the orders are correct.
