If you've ever walked down Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh, you know how crowded and loud it gets. Our shop, Murti & Co., is at 10/2438. It’s a spot we’ve held for many years. The building is old and the stairs have been worn down by many feet over the decades. We don't have any of those modern glass windows or fancy air conditioning units. It’s a traditional Karol Bagh shop where the shelves are packed high with stock. Sometimes you have to move three things just to find what you’re looking for in the back. We deal with a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us since their parents’ time. The street outside is always full of shoppers, rickshaws, and vendors shouting about their wares. Inside, we just try to keep things organized, though it’s a constant battle against the clutter. We don't have a marketing department or a polished website. It’s just us behind the counter, helping people who walk in through the door. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The humidity in the summer can be tough, but we just keep the fans going. It’s a busy, noisy, and somewhat messy life here on Ajmal Khan Road, but it’s what we know. We’ve seen many shops come and go, but we just stay here at 10/2438 and keep doing what we’ve always done. It’s a simple business for local people.
