Mukut Bihari Impex Llp is situated in Gandhi Gali, right at the Tilak Bazar Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always moving about. We are on the first floor at number 95. It is a very traditional market area. The smells of the market and the constant shouting of workers are just part of our day. Our office is small and cramped because space is hard to come by here. We deal with various imports and there are always samples lying around on the floor or on the tables. It is a very hands-on kind of business. We don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to keep our records straight. The stairs up to the first floor are steep. We spend a lot of time talking to local traders and checking the quality of what comes in. It’s dusty and loud, but it’s where we feel at home. There is a lot of history in these streets and we’ve been part of the Tilak Bazar community for years. We don't try to look corporate because that wouldn't fit in Gandhi Gali. We just do our work, drink our chai, and make sure the orders go out on time. It’s a busy life but we enjoy the energy of the market every day we are here.
