We set up shop at C-8 in Yadav Park, right off the New Rohtak Road. If you know the Kamarudin Nagar area in Nangloi, you know it’s a pretty packed neighborhood. There is always a lot of dust from the main road, so we spend a fair amount of time sweeping out the front of the shop. Mukesh Trading is mostly just a place where we store our stock and handle the paperwork for the daily sales. The walls are a bit yellowed from the age of the building, and we have calendars from three years ago still hanging up because we liked the pictures on them. It’s a busy environment with trucks coming in and out of the park, so things can get a bit hectic around noon. We don't have a lot of space for people to hang around. It’s more of a come-and-go kind of place. Most of our day is spent checking the inventory and making sure the counts are right. My nephew handles the computer stuff when he’s around, but mostly we just use the ledger books for the records. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I suppose, but it’s how we’ve always done it here in New Delhi. The tea stalls nearby are good, so we usually take our breaks there while we wait for the next delivery. It’s just us doing our daily rounds and making sure the orders are ready for whoever is picking them up.
