Jagdamba Kashtha Udyog

Jagdamba Kashtha Udyog is based out of Mohan Garden in the Uttam Nagar area. Working with wood means the whole place always smells like fresh pine or teak, depending on what we are cutting that day. There is always a layer of fine sawdust covering the floor and the machines, no matter how many times we try to sweep it out. It is a noisy place because the saws are running most of the morning and afternoon. Mohan Garden is a very busy part of town, so there is constant traffic noise right outside our front gate. We have a few guys who have been working here for years, and they know the machines better than anyone else. The space is a bit cramped because we keep a lot of logs and cut planks stacked up against the walls. You have to be careful where you walk so you don’t trip over a stray piece of timber. Sometimes we sit on the wooden blocks during our lunch break and just watch the people passing by on the street. It gets very hot in the summer, so we keep a big water cooler near the entrance for everyone to use. We don’t really do anything fancy here, just handle the wood and make sure the orders are ready when they need to be. The ledger where we write everything down is getting old and the cover is torn, but it works for us.
