Mini Motors (India)

Mini Motors (India) is based in Okhla Industrial Area, Phase-II, at plot Z-60. If you’ve ever been to Okhla, you know it’s all about the factories and the heavy trucks moving through the narrow lanes. Our building is right in the middle of all that noise and grit. We spend most of our time dealing with motor parts and various mechanical components. There’s usually a thin layer of oil or grease on the floor, and the air smells like metal and exhaust. It’s a tough place to work sometimes because it gets incredibly hot in the summer, and the fans just move the warm air around. We have a small crew of mechanics and clerks who handle the orders. Most of the day is spent checking inventory or loading crates onto the back of small tempos. The phones are always ringing with people asking about parts or delivery times. We don’t have a nice lobby or anything like that; if you come to see us, you’ll probably end up standing in the middle of the warehouse area. It’s a practical business for a practical part of Delhi. We just try to get the orders out as fast as we can so we don’t fall behind on the schedule. The lunch break is usually the only time it gets quiet, and we all sit around the small table in the back. It’s a lot of hard work but it’s what we know how to do best.
