Anand Parbat is a crowded place, and Gali No. 4N is no different. We are at A 17. If you have ever walked through this industrial area, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many small shops are packed together. Manoj Industries has been here for a long time. We do a lot of metalwork and small parts manufacturing. It is loud from the moment we open up until the evening when the shutters go down. We have a few old machines that still work better than the new ones sometimes. There is grease on almost everything, including the door handles. My father started this, and now we just keep it going. We do not have a big sign out front, just the number on the wall. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we are like a small family. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the price of raw materials which seems to go up every month. The space is tight, so we have to be organized about where we put the finished pieces. When a big truck comes to pick up an order, it is always a struggle to get it through the lane, but we make it work. It is just the way things are in this part of Delhi. We are not trying to be anything big; we just fulfill the orders we get and stay busy. There is always something to weld or grind.
