Our shop, Number 2676A, is located on the ground floor in Naya Bazar. This area of Delhi is steeped in history and always has that distinct scent of spices and grains drifting through the air. Being part of this row of shops has been our reality for many years now. We spend most of our time on impex work, which usually means dealing with a lot of paperwork and coordinating with various suppliers. The ground floor spot is helpful for moving goods, which is a good thing since the streets here are narrow and often jammed with traffic. It isn’t a shiny, polished office by any means. The walls have some wear and tear, and our furniture has seen better days, but it’s a comfortable place for us to work. We’ve grown to know the other shopkeepers around us, and sharing a cup of tea in the afternoon is a common occurrence. Our day starts when the market opens up and doesn't really slow down until the sun starts to set. We don't have mission statements or any of that marketing talk you see online. We just try to be fair and do a good job so we can keep our business going. It’s a very traditional way of working, built on the relationships we have formed over a long time in this neighborhood.
