Vinod Traders is tucked away on the 2nd Floor of Choudhray Market. Our address is No. 5140/41-50 in the Rui Mandi area of Sadar Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Sadar, you know how packed it gets with people and carts. Every morning is a struggle just to get the goods up the stairs because the hallways are so narrow and everyone is pushing past each other to get to their own shops. We spend a lot of time counting stock and writing out receipts by hand at our small desk. It’s a busy market life and there is always someone shouting about a delivery or a price in the hallway. Our space is filled with boxes from floor to ceiling, so there isn't much room to move around most of the time. We’ve been in this market for years and know most of the other shopkeepers nearby. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the porters to bring up the next load. It gets very hot in the summer up on the second floor, but we just keep the fans running and stay busy. The noise from the street below never really stops until late at night. We aren't trying to be anything fancy, just a regular trading business in a very crowded part of Delhi. It’s a bit messy and loud, but that is just how Rui Mandi works. We show up, do the work, and head home once the shutters go down.
