Mahadev Auto Parts

Our shop is over in Sector 21 of Rohini, right in Pocket 9. If you know where the Begumpur Bus Stand is, we are just a short walk from there. Mahadev Auto Parts isn't a very big place, but we pack a lot of stock into these four walls. Most days it’s just us surrounded by boxes of filters, brakes, and light bulbs. It gets pretty busy around the bus stand area, so there is always noise and people walking by outside. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the local mechanics by their first names. The shelves are a bit disorganized sometimes because we are always pulling things down for customers in a hurry. It’s just a regular neighborhood shop. We don’t have a website or anything fancy, just a phone that rings a lot throughout the day. My brother and I usually handle everything ourselves. Sometimes the delivery guys bring the wrong stuff and we have to sort it out, which takes a lot of time. We drink a lot of chai during the day to stay sharp and keep going. It’s a lot of standing around and looking through catalogs to find the right part number for an old car. People come in asking for things we haven't seen in years, and we try our best to find them in the back. It’s honest work and we enjoy it. We open early and stay until late evening most days. It’s not glamorous but it’s what we do.
