Machanic

You can find us at 60 Nayaganj, right near the bus stand in Sikandra Rao, which is in the Hathras district of U.P. Being so close to the bus stand means we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. The name on the sign says Machanic, and that is exactly what we are. We spend our time fixing up vehicles and making sure they are fit for the road again. It is a dusty spot, and our hands are usually covered in oil by ten in the morning. People stop by when their engines are making a funny noise or when something has finally broken down after a long trip. We have a basic set of tools and a lot of experience with the kind of trucks and cars that drive through this part of Uttar Pradesh. It is a busy life, especially during the harvest season when more vehicles are moving through Sikandra Rao. We don't spend much time on paperwork or anything like that. Instead, we are usually under a hood or crawling under a chassis to see what is wrong. The shop is a bit cluttered with old parts and tires, but it is our workspace and we like it that way. We just take things one engine at a time and try to get people back on their way as quickly as we can. It is tough work, but it is what we know.
