We have our office and workspace at B-267 in Okhla Industrial Estate Phase I. The name M L Shanker Das & Co has been around for quite some time. It’s an old-fashioned sort of place. Inside, you’ll find heavy wooden desks that have been there for decades and shelves piled high with ledgers and files. We don't go in for all the modern office trends or glass walls. We like things the way they have always been. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the daily tasks to worry about that. Being in Okhla means there is always a truck idling outside or someone shouting in the street. It’s a constant background noise that you eventually stop hearing after a few weeks. We have a small group of people working here who have been with us for a lot of years. We know each other's families and stories. It’s more like a small community than a corporate company. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the work that needs to be finished by the end of the week. There’s no mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and maybe a picture of a deity. We do our work, talk to our neighbors, and deal with the daily issues of running a business in a busy industrial hub. It is simple and it works for us.
