You’ll find us at Patiala House Courts, specifically at spot number 35. It’s a place that’s always buzzing with people, lawyers, and clerks. M C Dhingra is the name we go by here. Working in the courts means our days are dictated by schedules and hearings. It’s a lot of running around and making sure the right papers are in the right hands at the right time. The office space is small, but that’s how it is in the court complex. We don't have room for much more than a few chairs and a lot of thick files. There’s a specific energy here that you won't find anywhere else in Delhi. We meet all sorts of people every single day. Some are worried, some are just trying to get things over with. We just provide a steady hand through the whole process. It’s not a glamorous job, and the tea is usually lukewarm by the time we actually get to drink it. But we’ve been doing this for years now. We know the hallways and the faces of the people who work at the other desks nearby. We keep things professional but down to earth. There's no point in being fancy when there’s so much real work to do. We just stay focused on the task at hand and wait for the next call or the next file to arrive. People know where to find us.
