LIGHT HOME

If you know Bhagirath Palace, you know how hectic it can be. We are right in the middle of it at 1858/W2 in Mahalaxmi Market. Light Home is basically our second home because we spend more time here than anywhere else. The market is always loud with people shouting and carts moving around. Our space is packed with items from floor to ceiling. It can be hard to move around sometimes. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us handling the daily chores. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down. People come in looking for specific things and we try to find them in the stacks. Sometimes it takes a minute. The walls are covered in shelves. We’ve been here long enough that the other shopkeepers are like family. We share tea and talk about how the business is going. It’s not always easy but it is what we know. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell what we have and try to be fair. The traffic outside is always a mess but that’s just part of being in this part of town. We keep things simple. We write down orders on paper pads. Every morning starts with a bit of cleaning. Then the customers start arriving. That’s our life here at the shop. It stays busy and we just keep the lights on every day for anyone stopping by.
