You can find Lalit Jain & Company over in Sadar Bazar at 1062/201 on the second floor in Pan Mandi. If you’ve ever been to Pan Mandi, you know how crowded it gets with people and carts everywhere. Our office is up the stairs, away from the main rush of the street. It’s an old building, but it has character and it’s right in the heart of the trade. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know the rhythms of the market pretty well by now. The morning starts with the sounds of shops opening up and people shouting to each other across the lanes. We spend our days handling paperwork and talking to people who come up to see us. It’s not a large space, but we make it work with what we have. There are stacks of files everywhere because we like to keep track of things the old-fashioned way. We don’t go for anything too fancy or modern in terms of office furniture. It’s just a place to do business and meet with folks we’ve known for years. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, but that’s just life in this part of town. We’re just regular people trying to do a good job in a very busy marketplace. That’s what it’s like for us every day in Sadar Bazar and we wouldn't change it.
