L. Narayan & Co.

L. Narayan & Co. has been operating out of rooms 205 and 206 in the Surya Complex for many years. It’s a big, dusty building on Vikash Marg in the Shakarpur area. If you’ve ever been to the V.S. Block, you probably know how crowded it gets around here. Our office is full of old wooden desks and cabinets that are bursting with files. We do a lot of paperwork and accounting stuff. It isn’t very exciting, but it’s steady work. The noise from the traffic on the main road is constant, but after a while, you just stop hearing it. We usually start our day early to beat the worst of the heat and the crowds. We don’t have a big sign or anything fancy, just our name on the door. Most of the people who come to see us are regulars who have been with us since the beginning. We spend a lot of time checking numbers and making sure everything is filed correctly with the government offices. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit around talking until it comes back on. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in Delhi, we just like doing our jobs right. The tea stall right outside the complex makes the best chai, which helps us get through the long afternoons when the paperwork starts to feel endless. It’s just a normal office life here in the middle of Shakarpur.
