Kusum Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of S-16 in Okhla Industrial Area, Phase-II for a long time. Delhi summers are no joke in an industrial shed, but we manage with the big fans. We do a bit of everything here when it comes to manufacturing and trading. The space is filled with the smell of metal and packing tape. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s our place. The morning tea break is probably the most important part of the day for the guys. We’ve seen Okhla change quite a bit since we first moved into this unit. There are more trucks and more noise now. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. It’s usually just one of us answering the phone and writing down orders in a ledger. Sometimes we get behind on the paperwork, but the actual work always gets finished. We deal with all sorts of clients, from small shops to bigger outfits. Everyone gets the same treatment here. It’s a no-nonsense environment. We have a couple of old machines that still run better than the new ones. The floor is stained but that just shows we’ve been working hard. You learn to navigate the narrow lanes around here pretty quickly. It’s just us, doing what we know how to do every single day. We don't worry about the polish as much as the product. It’s a bit messy but we know where everything is.
