Kumar Gear

We’re located in the Dabri Industrial Area, specifically Gali Number-1 and 77/A. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren’t used to it. Being near Dwarka helps people get their bearings, though. Kumar Gear is right in the thick of things. The whole area smells like metal and oil, which is just part of the job. We specialize in gears and related machinery parts. It’s loud around here with all the other workshops running, so you have to speak up when you come in. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and heavy machinery. We spend our days measuring and cutting or looking through catalogs for specific parts. It’s precision work but in a very gritty environment. We don’t have a receptionist; you just walk in and find whoever isn't currently holding a tool. The floor is concrete and usually has some scuff marks from moving heavy crates around. We’ve been in this Gali for a while now. Most of the other shop owners around here are our friends. We help each other out when someone is short on a tool or needs a hand. It’s a tough way to make a living sometimes, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the gears right. If you come by during the rainy season, you have to watch your step because the Gali gets pretty muddy. We usually just put some old wooden planks down so people can get across without ruining their shoes.
