If you’ve ever been to Karol Bagh, you know how crazy it gets. Kuldeep Auto Products is right in the middle of it all at 1180/6, Naiwala. This part of Abdul Rehman Road is always packed with people and scooters. We’ve got auto products stacked up to the ceiling in some parts of the shop. It’s a tight squeeze, but we know exactly where everything is. The noise from the street never really stops, so you have to shout a bit to be heard. We’ve been here for years, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. But our shop stays pretty much the same. We deal with all sorts of people looking for specific parts. Sometimes we have what they need, and sometimes we have to dig through the back to find it. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and checking labels. My hands are usually stained with oil by the time lunch rolls around. We eat at our desks most days because it’s too busy to leave. There’s no air conditioning, just a few old fans that move the hot air around. It’s not a fancy lifestyle, but it’s what we know. We just try to be fair with everyone and keep the shop running as best as we can in the middle of all this Delhi chaos. It is exhausting work, but it keeps us busy.
