The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when everything pauses for ten minutes. It’s funny how a small glass of hot chai can change the whole mood of the room. The lighting isn’t the best in the storage area, so we use those hand-held torches sometimes. Last Tuesday, the power went out for three hours and we all sat out on the steps just watching the traffic go by. It’s a busy life here. We don’t have any fancy signs out front, just the address and the name. People who need to find us usually do. My chair squeaks every time I lean back, but I’ve gotten used to it. We just focus on the clothes and getting them ready for the next truck.
