If you ever find yourself in the middle of Bhagirath Palace in Delhi, you’ll know it’s a total maze of shops and wires. We are on the second floor, Shop Number 13, at 1710. It’s a small space, crammed with boxes from floor to ceiling. You have to watch your step because there’s always something sitting in the hallway. We’ve been running Kirti Enterprises from this spot for quite some time. It’s noisy, crowded, and there is always someone shouting about a delivery downstairs. We deal with electrical stuff and various components that people need for their projects. It's the kind of place where you know everyone on the floor by their first name. We don't have air conditioning that works very well, so it gets pretty stuffy in the summer months. But that’s just how it is in the market. We spend our days answering the phone and writing out bills by hand. There isn't any corporate polish here; it's just a lot of cardboard boxes and old desks. We try to keep track of everything, but sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific part in the back. People come to us because they know we’re actually there, sitting in the shop, ready to help. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our way of doing things. We just keep at it, day in and day out, in the heart of Old Delhi.
