It is mostly a place where we deal with copper and aluminum wire used for motors and fans. The shop smells a bit like metal and insulation, which is just how it is when you handle this stuff all day. We have reels stacked up everywhere, and the floors are always a bit scuffed from moving the heavy loads around. It is a busy street outside, so there is usually the sound of horns and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the orders. Some people come in looking for specific gauges for a repair job they are doing at home, while others need a lot more for their small workshops. We spend a lot of time weighing things out and cutting lengths for whoever walks in. It is not a fancy setup with air conditioning and soft chairs. We have some old wooden stools and a counter that has seen better days. The guys here know which wire is which just by looking at it because they have been doing this for years. We don't really have a big sales pitch or anything. We just show the stock, tell the price, and get to work. It is simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning until the shutters go down at night. We just try to get the orders right and move on to the next one.
