Our shop is located at Shop No -597/1 on Hamilton Road, right in the thick of the chaos at Kashmere Gate. If you know anything about Delhi, then you know how crazy it gets around this area. It is narrow, crowded, and there is always someone shouting or a horn honking nearby. We have been in this specific spot for a while now. The building is quite old, and the stairs leading up are a bit steep and narrow. We deal with automotive parts mostly. The shelves in the shop are packed from the floor all the way to the ceiling with cardboard boxes. Sometimes it takes us ten minutes just to find the right part number in the back room. It is a lot of manual labor, moving heavy boxes around and dealing with the delivery guys who are always in a rush. We don't have much space to move, so we have to use every single inch we have got. The tea guy comes around every couple of hours, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon for us. We see all kinds of people here, from young mechanics to old truck owners. It is a busy life. The dust from the road outside settles on everything, so we are always wiping down the front counter. We don't have any air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that spin as fast as they can to keep us cool. It is a bit chaotic, but we have a system that works for us. Hamilton Road is famous for this stuff, and we are just one part of that ecosystem.
