You can find Khadi Paper India at 94/2 near the Shiv Mandir in Gali Babarpur, Shahdara. Being so close to the temple, we hear the bells every morning and evening. It’s a very local feel here. Our place is packed with paper of all different sorts. It has that specific earthy smell that comes with khadi products. The street is narrow, so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We don't have a big fancy office. It’s mostly just shelves and stacks of paper reaching up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time counting sheets and packing them for people who come by. It’s a hands-on kind of job. Our clothes usually have a bit of paper dust on them by lunchtime. We don’t use any complicated systems; we just write things down in a ledger and keep moving. The neighbors are mostly families and other small shops, so it’s a friendly atmosphere. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when the shop gets too cramped. We don’t do any big advertising. People just know we are the paper shop near the Mandir. It’s a simple way to earn a living, and we like the rhythm of it. We just focus on the paper and making sure we don't run out of the popular sizes. It stays busy enough for us throughout the week.
