Nirmal Selections

You can find us at Shop Number 79 in the Gaffar Market. If you've ever been to Karol Bagh, you already know how the atmosphere is. It's always crowded and loud and there's usually someone yelling about something nearby. Nirmal Selections is right in the middle of all that daily chaos. We have been in this exact spot for many years. The shop is quite small, but we manage to cram a lot of stock into it. We have metal shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. I have to use a rickety ladder ten times a day just to reach the stuff at the very top. My legs get really tired by five o'clock in the evening. We talk to hundreds of different people every day. Some are just looking for a bargain and want to argue about the price. Others know exactly what they want and leave quickly. We don't have much space to move around in here. It gets very hot in the summer months because the market is so packed with people and traffic. We drink a lot of cold water to stay cool. Sometimes the tea guy brings us a glass from the stall on the corner. The floor is made of old tiles that are starting to crack in the corners. We don't really mind it. It's just a shop where we work. We sell all kinds of things depending on the month and what is available to us.
