Kapoor Lamp Shades

Our workshop is situated at 3E/2 in the Jhandewalan Extension, right near Exide House. We spend most of our time working on lamp shades of all different kinds. It’s a bit of a messy process with fabrics, frames, and glue all over the benches. The place usually smells a bit like adhesive and dust. We’ve been in the Jhandewalan area for quite a while now. It’s a good spot for us because people know where to find us when they need something repaired or a new shade made. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many different materials stored everywhere. We have to move boxes around just to get to the back. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s more of a working shop where the actual making happens. We don’t really follow a strict schedule, we just work until the jobs for the day are finished. Sometimes the lighting isn’t great, which is funny since we work on lamps. We just use what we have to get the job done. Being near Exide House makes it easy to give directions to anyone coming by. It’s mostly just us and the tools and the fabric. We don’t do much advertising, word of mouth usually brings people to our door in the extension. It’s a steady way to spend the day, even if the work is a bit repetitive sometimes.
