Working out of Shop-2 at Rohilla Chowk on Kakrola Road means we see a lot of action every single day. There’s always someone stopping by because they had a scare or just want to see what’s happening outside their front door. Our shop is full of monitors showing different angles of the street and the back alley. It can be a bit overwhelming with all those screens blinking at you all day. We spend half our time out on ladders pulling cables through ceilings and the other half trying to explain how to use the phone app to our customers. It’s a lot of technical stuff but we try to keep it simple. The workbench in the back is covered in screwdrivers, drill bits, and cut pieces of wire. It’s not the cleanest shop in the world, but we know where everything is. Kakrola Road is usually loud, and the dust from the street comes in every time the door opens. We have a few different types of cameras on display, some that spin around and some that just sit there. Most people just want something that works when it’s dark out. It’s just me and a couple of guys doing the installations. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just putting up cameras and making sure the recording is actually happening on the hard drive. It’s steady work and keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. We've been here at Rohilla Chowk for a good while.
