If you have ever been to Kashmere Gate, you know how hectic it gets around Nicholson Road. K.A. Auto Agency is right in the thick of it. We occupy shops 35 and 41 inside the Gurunanak Charitable Trust Market. It’s a bit of a maze in there, especially with all the Chabhi Ganj traffic and people moving parts around. We have been working out of these two spots for quite some time. One shop is usually packed with inventory while the other is where we talk to people. It’s noisy and dusty most days, but that is the way an auto market works. We deal with whatever parts come through and try to keep things organized, which is harder than it looks when the deliveries arrive all at once. Usually, someone is drinking tea while looking over a ledger or checking a part number against an old catalog. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just shelves, counters, and a lot of metal. Customers come in looking for specific things for their vehicles and we see what we have in the back. Sometimes we have to run between the two shops to find what is needed. The market closes late and by then we are usually pretty tired. It is a steady way of living, being here in the heart of the city’s trade.
