K C Gupta Co has been a part of Shahdara for a long time. We are situated right in the Bara Bazar area, specifically at number 539. If you have ever been to the bazaar, you know how packed it gets. There are shops everywhere and the noise of people bargaining never really stops. Our place is right in the middle of all that. We handle a variety of goods and supplies that people in the market need. The shop is old, with wooden shelves that have seen better days and a floor that shows the years of feet walking over it. We don't have a fancy website or a social media page. We just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes in. Usually, it is the same faces we have seen for a decade. My father used to run things here, and now it is my turn to keep it going. We spend a lot of time counting stock and talking to the delivery drivers who struggle to get their carts through the narrow lanes of Shahdara. It is a bit chaotic, but we are used to it. We don't try to be anything we are not. We are just a local business in a busy market. We do our best to keep the items people want on the shelves. It is hard work but it is what we know. In the evenings, the bazaar gets even louder, but we usually start closing up the heavy shutters by then. It is a long day every day.
