Our shop and office are right at 7, Netaji Subhash Marg in Darya Ganj. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets, especially with all the book markets and traffic. We’ve been in this building for a good while. The stairs are a bit narrow and the ceilings are high, like most of the older structures around here. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and boxes. We deal with a lot of different products, so space is always at a premium. We try to keep things in some kind of order, but on busy days, there’s stuff everywhere. There’s a constant hum of traffic from the main road that you can hear even with the windows shut. We have a couple of heavy wooden desks where we do the billing and paperwork. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is something we always look forward to. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don’t have a website that’s updated every hour or anything like that. We just talk to our customers and manage the stock we have on hand. Darya Ganj has a specific energy, and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes the mail gets delivered to the wrong floor because the building layout is a bit confusing to new people. We just walk it over to the right neighbor. It's a community where everyone knows everyone else’s business.
