Nawab Collections

The shop is tucked away over here in West Vashist Park, right on Pankha Road in Janakpuri. It’s D5/14 if you are looking for the exact door. Most days start with opening the locks and sweeping the front step because the dust from the road never seems to quit. It’s a busy part of Delhi, so there’s always the sound of horns and people shouting outside. Inside, we just have racks of clothes and some mirrors. It’s not a huge space, so things can get a bit tight when more than three people walk in at once. We spend a lot of time just organizing the hangers and folding things back up after someone has looked through them. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that I should probably get fixed, but it keeps the air moving so it stays for now. We see a lot of local faces from the neighborhood. Some people come in just to chat for a minute while they’re out doing their grocery shopping. It’s a bit of a squeeze when new stock arrives and we have bags all over the floor, but we manage to find a place for everything eventually. It’s just us here, trying to keep things tidy and helping whoever walks through the door. Nothing fancy about it, just a local shop doing its thing day after day.
