Our office is right in the middle of all that energy. It is a small space with several desks pushed together to make room for all the files. We spend most of the day dealing with people coming in and out. There is always a phone ringing or someone asking a question about a document. Rameshweri Nehru Nagar has its own rhythm, and we have become part of it over the years. We keep the fans running all day to deal with the Delhi heat. The building is older, so the stairs are a bit narrow and steep. We have a lot of tea throughout the day, usually brought in from the stall down the street. It is not a quiet environment by any means. You can hear the hawkers and the rickshaws outside the window constantly. We handle a lot of paperwork and sometimes the stacks get so high we can’t see the person sitting across from us. It is just a regular office life in a very busy part of the city. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just calendars and clocks. We show up, do the work for our clients, and then fight the traffic to get home in the evening.
