Our place is on the first floor over in Sector-7, Rohini. It’s B-4/269-270, and you can usually smell the rubber before you even walk up the stairs. We deal with tyres all day long. The office is filled with ledgers, catalogs, and a few sample pieces that sit in the corner collecting dust. It’s a busy part of Delhi, so there is always the sound of horns and engines from the street below. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or checking on deliveries. The walls are a bit bare, maybe a calendar or two from last year that nobody bothered to take down. It’s a working environment, not a showroom. We have a small tea station where the kettle is almost always on. My desk is usually covered in sticky notes because I can’t remember everything otherwise. People come in with all sorts of questions about tread and pressure, and we just tell them what we know. It’s not a glamorous job, but vehicles need tyres, so we stay busy. We close up around 7 or 8 depending on the work, and then do it all again the next day. Rohini is a good spot for this kind of business because people are always moving around. We’ve been here long enough that we know the other shop owners on the block quite well. It is just a regular life in a busy market area.
