Ismat Garments

Down in Sultan Puri, at C-4/369, you’ll find our little garment shop. It’s tucked away in a busy residential block where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We started small and stayed that way because it works for us and our family. The front of the shop is mostly glass so we can see what’s happening on the street while we work. We sell a bit of everything for the family, from shirts to simple dresses. It’s often a bit messy with clothes that people have looked at and not put back quite right on the hangers. We spend our evenings tidying up the piles and making sure everything is in the right place. The neighbors often stop by just to say hello even if they don't need to buy anything that day. It’s that kind of neighborhood where people look out for each other. We don't have air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that spin all day in the heat. Sometimes we have to move the racks outside to make more room when a big delivery arrives in the morning. The street can be quite narrow, so parking is always a bit of a headache for anyone visiting us from outside the area. We do our own bookkeeping and most of the heavy lifting ourselves. It’s hard work and the hours are long, but we like being part of the community here. There isn't anything fancy about Ismat Garments; it's just a regular shop.
