International Conference On Radiation Biology 2014

Back in 2014, things were incredibly busy for the International Conference On Radiation Biology. Our home for this was the Institute Of Nuclear Medicine And Allied Sciences, located on Brig. S. K. Mazumdar Marg. It is a bit of a long name for a road, but the location is very well-known in the scientific circles around here. The road is lined with old trees and feels a bit more serious and quiet than other parts of the city. We spent a lot of our time in the halls of the institute, setting up chairs and making sure the projectors were actually working. There were researchers and students coming in from all over. It was not just about the talks, though; it was the boring prep work that really took up most of our energy. Moving heavy boxes of files and making sure the name badges were all printed correctly for the morning. The regular staff at the institute helped out quite a bit, even when we were probably getting in their way. It is a place where serious research happens every single day, so having a big event there was a bit of a change of pace for everyone. We had to navigate a lot of long corridors and keep track of different room schedules. The cafeteria was always full of people arguing about their data over a cup of coffee. It has been several years since 2014, but that time on Brig. S. K. Mazumdar Marg is still something we remember clearly.
