Working in a basement in Central Market means you get used to a certain way of doing things. Imran Fabric Industries is tucked away at A-55/ A. If you’ve been to Lajpat Nagar - II, you know how crowded it gets, especially on weekends. We are right in the middle of all that chaos. Down here in the basement, it stays a bit cooler than outside, which is nice during the summer months. We have rolls of fabric everywhere. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough space, but we manage to find what we need. It's a busy atmosphere with people coming and going from the market upstairs. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. The lighting isn't always great, but we have our lamps set up so we can see the colors and textures properly. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy bolts of cloth around. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they’ve been coming to the market for years. Every morning starts with opening up the shutters and sorting through the new arrivals. It’s just us doing our daily tasks. The market noise is like background music for us now. We just focus on the fabric and getting things ready for whoever needs them. It's a simple life down here in the basement, but we like the pace.
