HPL Electric & Power private limited is where we work, at 1/21 Asaf Ali Road. This part of Delhi is always moving, it’s right near the old city so the energy is different here. Our office is in one of those older buildings that has seen a lot of history. Inside, it’s mostly shelves filled with electrical components and boxes waiting to be sent out. We deal with meters and switches mostly. The phone rings quite a bit, usually someone asking about a technical spec or a delivery time. We don't have a lot of space for sitting around. The desks are covered in ledgers and catalogs. Sometimes the power goes out in the area and we just have to wait it out or use the backup, which is ironic given what we sell. We have a small staff, and we’ve all been here long enough to know where everything is kept, even if it looks messy to an outsider. It’s a bit of a walk from the metro, but the street life is interesting. You see everything on Asaf Ali Road. We keep the doors open mostly to let some air in, though it brings in the noise too. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the stock levels are okay. It’s a standard routine, day in and day out, in a very busy part of the city. We don't do much besides the work itself.
