Our place is at C-116 in the Mayapuri Industrial Area, Phase-Ii. If you know Mayapuri, you know it’s a place where things get built and recycled. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal somewhere nearby. We have been here for quite some time now. Our unit is packed with various items and materials we’ve collected over the years. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but it’s an industrial unit, so that’s expected. We handle a lot of supply work and trade. The office part is just a small cabin with a couple of chairs and a wooden desk that’s seen better days. We keep our ledgers there and talk to the people who come to visit us. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so we all know each other well. We share news about the market or help each other out if someone needs a specific tool. It’s a rough and ready kind of life. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. We’d rather spend it on keeping the equipment running and the work moving. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a big truck, and we just have to wait it out. That’s just how it is here at C-116. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day without complaining.
