Gopi Plastic

Our small factory is at 18 Rajkumar Industrial Estate. We are right by Nirala House and the Gayatri Mandir is just a short walk away. Being on the Amraiwadi Highway means things are always moving and the sound of traffic is constant. You can hear the heavy trucks going by all day long and it vibrates the floor sometimes. We mostly spend our time dealing with plastic materials and older machines that make a lot of noise. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months because of the metal roof, but we just open the big shutters and keep going anyway. My desk is usually covered in a pile of papers and different plastic samples we've been testing. Most of the guys here live in the nearby neighborhood so they just walk or take a cycle to work every morning. We aren't some huge operation with hundreds of people, just a few of us making sure the orders get out to the local shops on time. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and everything stops for an hour, so we just sit outside on the steps and talk until it comes back on. It’s a simple setup near Minaxi Park Society. Nothing fancy to look at, just a regular workplace with grease on the floor and plastic bags stacked up to the ceiling. We know the neighbors well and the tea stall at the corner knows exactly how we like our drinks. It’s just how things are around here.
