Gautam Automotive

Gautam Automotive is located in New Mahavir Nagar at Wz-D5. We are very close to the East Janakpuri Metro Station, so the sound of the trains passing overhead is something we hear all day long. We mostly deal with car parts and various types of repairs. The shop is quite full of boxes, tires, and metal components that we use for our work. It gets pretty greasy and dark in the back area where we actually do the mechanical stuff. I started this place because I always liked working with my hands and fixing engines. Now it is a daily routine of checking under hoods and swapping out old parts for new ones. The Delhi summers are really tough when you are working in a garage like this. We have a small cooler that we keep running, but it doesn't do much when the temperature goes up. Most of the people who come to us live in the neighborhood or work nearby. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV or coffee machine. Usually, customers just stand around and chat with us while we work, or they go for a walk and come back later. It is a very straightforward business. We just try to get the vehicles back in working order so people can get on with their day. It is hard work and my clothes are usually a mess by evening.
