Gaur Hari & Co.

If you know Dariba Kalan, you know how tight the lanes can get. We are located at 382, Kucha Bulagi Begum. It’s one of those old buildings that has been around forever. Getting here involves walking through the crowded market streets, dodging people and carts. Our space for Gaur Hari & Co. is tucked away inside, so it stays a bit cooler than the street outside during the summer. The floors are stone and the ceilings are quite high, which gives it a strange feeling compared to modern offices. We have a lot of old wooden cupboards where we keep everything. There isn't much natural light that reaches our back room, so we rely on some old tube lights that flicker once in a while. The smell of the nearby food stalls sometimes drifts in, which is nice around lunchtime. It’s a very traditional setup here. We don't have fancy signs or anything. People mostly find us because they’ve known the address for years. Our desks are crowded with ledgers and small boxes. It gets quite loud during the middle of the day with the shouting from the lane outside, but it’s something you just get used to after a week or two. Sometimes the neighbors come in to borrow a tool or just to chat for a minute. It’s a very close-knit part of the city. We just keep our heads down and do our daily tasks without much fuss. The old wooden door still creaks when you open it.
