Ganesh Motors

Ganesh Motors has been sitting here at Mori Gate for a while now. If you know Kashmere Gate Gali, you know how tight the streets are. We are right opposite the Old Delhi Railway Station, so the noise from the trains and the crowds is something we hear from morning till night. It’s a greasy place, mostly because we are always dealing with engines and parts. There’s oil on the floor and the walls are a bit stained from years of work. We don't have a waiting room or anything like that. People usually just stand around or go get a tea while we look at their vehicles. It’s a lot of manual labor and using tools that have seen better days. The traffic outside is always a mess, especially when the big trucks try to squeeze through the narrow lane. We keep the spare parts in the back on some old wooden shelves that lean a bit to the left. Sometimes we have to dig through a lot of boxes to find the right bolt or wire. It’s just how we work here. It’s a tough spot with all the dust and the heat, but we stay busy. It’s not a shiny showroom. It’s just a workshop where we get our hands dirty every single day. We try to keep things moving but in this heat and chaos, it is often a struggle to stay clean.
