Ganesh Lakshmi Auto Agencies is right in the heart of Kashmere Gate at Door No. 771, Chabi Ganj. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s a total maze of shops and narrow lanes. Our place is always packed with boxes of auto parts stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get around sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. From the moment we open the shutters in the morning, people are coming in asking for specific bolts, gears, or engine parts. It’s noisy with the sounds of rickshaws and people shouting outside on the street. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking our ledgers to see what’s in stock. It can get really sweaty in the summer since the air doesn't move much in these old buildings, so we just keep the fans going and drink plenty of cold water. We’ve been in Chabi Ganj for quite a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around here. We don't try to act like a big corporate office; we’re just a local agency helping people get their vehicles back on the road. Most of our work is just moving boxes and making sure the right part goes to the right person. It’s chaotic and busy, but that’s just life at Kashmere Gate for us every day.
