Ni- Su Optical Enterprises

Ni- Su Optical Enterprises is right in the heart of the old city, located at No. 202-A in Katra Baryan, Fatehpuri. If you’ve never been to Fatehpuri, it’s an experience. The streets are narrow, the crowds are massive, and there is an energy you just don’t find anywhere else in Delhi. Our shop is part of the long history of the optical trade in this area. We spend our days surrounded by frames and lenses of all shapes and sizes. It’s a small space, and we have to be very organized to make sure we can find what we need quickly. The smell of street food and the sound of rickshaw bells are just part of the background here. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning or glass partitions. It’s an old-school setup where we talk directly to the people who walk in. Most of the other shopkeepers around here are friends, so there’s a lot of back-and-forth throughout the day. We’ve seen the market change over the decades, but the way we do things stays pretty much the same. We focus on getting the glasses right and making sure our customers are happy with what they get. It’s a busy, sometimes chaotic life in Katra Baryan, but it’s home for us. We just keep our heads down and work through the orders, taking a break for tea when the rush dies down for a few minutes in the afternoon.
